Love & Southern D!scomfort (formerly known as “The Inheritance Musical”) debuted in Chicago, at the eta Creative Arts Foundation as part of their Magic Box series and broke the box office attendance record. It placed in the second round of the NAMT and the final round of the FWD Theatre Project.

The Inheritance Musical performed a staged reading in Los Angeles at The Ebony Repertory Theater, Starring Roz Ryan of Chicago the Musical, Michael-Leon Wooley of The Princess and the Frog, and Yvette Cason of Dreamgirls.

The Musical, starring cast members from the Broadway National Tour of The Book Of Mormon, made its concert debut in Denver at the Clocktower Cabaret to a standing-room-only crowd.

A concert version was presented in Chicago featuring Felicia P. Fields, Tony Award Nominee in 2006 for "Best Featured Actress in a Musical" for her work in The Color Purple.

LASD staged its world premiere at the Charleston Music Hall in Charleston, South  Carolina.

Maura Hogan, theater critic from the Charleston Post and Courier, wrote: “[Bobby] Daye’s marvelous score… and singers delivered time and again with soul, strength, and skill”.

Michael Smallwood, theater critic for the Charleston City Paper wrote: "To put it plainly, these songs are incredible. A mediocre musical can be elevated to legendary heights by an unforgettable slate of songs (I’m looking at you Rent) and Bobby Daye has done wonderful work here."

Our next presentation was to be six shows at the Marcus Center in Milwaukee in May 2020. However, due to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, the production had to be canceled.

January 2021: Due to a number of script changes, we decided to do a table read via Zoom.

Summer/Fall 2021: We are currently in the early stages of planning either a '29 hour reading' or a 'backers' audition' concert sometime in the summer or fall.
